In 2001, California Project LEAN received top honors (a Crystal Award) from the International Association of Business Communicators, Sacramento Chapter, for its public relations campaign releasing the 2000 California High School Fast Food Survey.

In 2000, California Project LEAN received the Dannon Institute Award for Excellence in Community Nutrition for its Food on the Run program.

In 1999, California Project LEAN received a bronze award from The National Public Health Information Coalition for its "Real Women, Healthy Lives" photo-documentary project.

In 1995, California Project LEAN received a silver award from the Sacramento Public Relations Association for its Retail (Grocery Store) Campaign.
