  • California Project LEAN (CPL) works to advance nutrition and physical activity policy in schools and communities in order to prevent obesity and its associated chronic diseases. CPL's efforts are centered around youth and parent empowerment approaches, policy and environmental change strategies, and community-based solutions that improve nutrition and physical activity environments. CPL is working to limit the availability of unhealthy drinks through promoting policy changes that limit the sale of sugary beverages in California public schools.
  • Water in Schools is a project of California Food Policy Advocates that provides tools, materials and information on promoting water consumption in schools.
  • Soda Free Summer is a campaign by the Alameda County Public Health Department, Nutrition Services that has inspired thousands of residents to reduce their consumption of sugary drinks.
  • Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesityis a non-profit research and public policy organization devoted to improving the world's diet, preventing obesity, and reducing weight stigma. The Rudd Center serves as a leader in building broad-based consensus to change diet and activity patterns while holding industry and government agencies responsible for safeguarding public health.
  • The California Center for Public Health Advocacy (CCPHA) raises awareness about health issues and advocates for the establishment of effective health policy. CCPHA's "California Campaign for Healthy Beverages" aims to change beverage environments in California in order to increase the consumption of water and other healthy beverages while decreasing consumption of soda and other sugary drinks.
