This school district found a very successful method for eliminating a la carte foods and beverages from its school meal program. Students now get healthy, appealing school meals. The food service program has gone from a budget deficit to a budget reserve.

Eliminating Soda and Unhealthy Foods from Vending Machines

Food and Nutrition Services worked with the school board to eliminate soda and unhealthy snacks from secondary school vending machines.  They also succeed in eliminating the sale of soda from middle and high school campuses during the entire school day.
